The 11th International Conference on Fracture and Strength of Solids (FEOFS 2018) will be organized by Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia. This conference is the eleventh in the series organized by FEOFS after tremendous success in Singapore (1991), X’ian (1994), Hong Kong (1997), Pohang (2000), Sendai (2003), Bali (2005), Xinjiang (2007), Kuala Lumpur (2010), Jeju Island (2013), Tokyo (2016). With the sponsorship of FEOFS, the conference is today the premier one concerned with the mechanics and mechanisms of fracture, fatigue and strength of solids.
The objectives of this international conference are to exchange and to discuss information in the most advanced scientific fields and in recent cutting-edge technologies among participants from the world’s academia, industries, and governments. The Conference also aims to provide a platform for collaborations among professional societies and to enhance technical exchanges among participants.
This conference was arranged to be held in Lombok, Indonesia, on the 26th – 29th August 2018. Due a strong earthquake has struck Lombok by a 7.0 magnitude quake, the conference will be moved to Yogyakarta on the same dates. The Conference will include technical sessions, special plenary lectures, social activities and exhibitions in Yogyakarta.
Yogyakarta is a city on the island of Java in Indonesia. This city was the seat of power that produced the magnificent temples of Borobudur and Prambanan in the 8th and 9th century. It is known as one of the foremost cultural centers of Java, from Gamelan, classical and contemporary Javanese dances, wayang kulit (leather puppet), theater and other expressions of traditional art will keep the visitor spellbound. More than just culture thought, it is a lively city for a shopper’s delight to visit Malioboro Street crowded by its night street food-culture and street vendors. Here is the Yogyakarta Travel Guide http://discoveryourindonesia.com/yogyakarta-travel-guide .
Yogyakarta can be reached via International flights from Kuala Lumpur (served by Air Asia and Malaysia Airlines) and Singapore (Indonesia AirAsia), while domestic flights are served by local carriers frequent flights from Jakarta and Denpasar (Bali) international airports. Alternative transportation arrangements include Train from Jakarta, Bandung, Purwokerto, Surabaya or Malang to Tugu Station located right at the end of Malioboro Street.
We look forward to see you at the FEOFS 2018 Conference.
GOAL OF THE FORUM
The goal of FEOFS2018 is to foster research in the Far East nations/regions in the mechanics and phenomena of fracture, fatigue and strength of materials and also promote cooperation among the scientists and engineers in these fields.
